Rosé Mansion – NYC’s Concrete Interactive Vineyard | GEEK CITY GUIDE

Summer isn’t over quite yet and if you are looking for the most refreshing beverage to serve at your next shindig, the wine will definitely be a great choice (as always). But not just any wine will do.  You gotta go with ROSÉ! and a great place to get some inspiration from will be Rosé Mansion here in NYC.

Rosé Mansion is an interactive wine tasting space where you can spend some time with friends, take some amazing pictures with some detailed backdrops, and taste a large variety of Rosé wines. Rosé Mansion gives a combination of a wine bar, an amusement park, and a museum of science for wine all smashed together to create the ultimate experience for any wine lover.

So What is Rosé?

You’ve heard it every and even in one of your favorite songs but what is it actually? Rosé is a type of wine that incorporates some of its color from the grape skin during fermentation, but not enough to qualify as red wine.  Most red wines ferment for a few weeks while in contact with the grape skin whereas rosé wines get stained for several hours. Winemakers can set the color however they would like just by editing the time the wine is being fermented with the skin.  Even though there are preferred methods and grapes in making rosé wines, nearly any red wine grapes can be used. These would include Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, Malbec, Merlot, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache and Pinot Noir.

Pinkies Up for Rosé

Now, the Rosé Mansion doesn’t skimp on decor and overall theatrics.  Upon entry, there was an instructional video on the best way to enjoy our stay.  It was recorded in a 70’s/80’s airline flight attendant theme.

The first room was where we received our Rosé Mansion stemless wine glasses and told by the mediator that we will use these to sample every wine they have in each of the themed rooms.  Whether the Rosé was sweet, dry, or sparking, the staff member showed us the reason behind the wine/decor pairing.

In one of the rooms, they gave gummies with the wine because it transformed the flavor of the wine after each sip. Another room had a retro Hollywood-style dressing room paired with a sweet rose to represent how sweet life was back then.  There was also a room decorated with foliage and rose petals, a room with a giant ball pit, and a room with a giant cake and confetti if you wanted to take a slow-motion video.

The artwork in the space is enchanting.  Simple. You walk into each room getting lost in the beauty and sipping on wine just enhances the experience.  The best part of the artwork is that they were all created by local artists that are highlighted on their website.

I truly recommend the Rosé Mansion to tourists, natives, art lovers, IG Influencers, everyone!  It’s definitely a great time. Glasses to the sky and Cheers!
