Elgato Wave Go is taking the brand beyond the streaming desk. CORSAIR’s creator-focused brand has announced its first wireless microphone, bringing its Wave audio lineup into mobile recording with a $99.99 system built for phone-based content creation. The pitch is straightforward: one compact microphone that can go from a magnetic clip-on to a handheld interview setup in seconds.

For streamers who already use Elgato gear at home, that makes this announcement particularly interesting. Wave Go introduces a mobile recording option with Wave Link and Stream Deck integration, extending the brand’s ecosystem beyond desktop production. That creates a compelling opportunity for creators who want their content to reach beyond the familiar camera angle at their streaming desk.
One Microphone, Two Ways to Create
Wave Go centers on a coin-sized transmitter that weighs just 7 grams and attaches magnetically to clothing. That gives creators a lightweight option for hands-free recording. When it is time to interview someone, the transmitter slots into the included Smart Handle, turning the same microphone into a full-sized handheld setup with recording controls and charging built in.
That flexibility is the hook. Picture recording an introduction outside a gaming convention, then switching to a handheld microphone for a developer interview. Rather than packing separate microphones for each format, Wave Go is designed to handle both roles with the same transmitter. Its EQ Shift feature automatically selects a different sound profile for chest-level recording or close-up handheld speech.

“More content is being filmed on phones today than ever before, in more places and in ways that didn’t exist a few years ago,” said Julian Fest, SVP and General Manager of Elgato. “Wave Go was built for that world. One mic that handles it all, and sounds amazing the entire time.”
From the Home Streaming Setup to IRL Content
For creators already invested in Elgato’s at-home ecosystem, the bigger story is how Wave Go could support content outside the studio. CORSAIR says its Wave Link and Stream Deck integration connects mobile recording with desktop production, giving existing users another tool within the same product family.
For a gaming streamer, the potential applications are easy to get excited about: convention coverage, event-floor interviews, behind-the-scenes videos, or on-location segments that complement regular broadcasts. These are opportunities to bring viewers into the experiences that happen between streams, rather than leaving those stories at the desk.
There is an important distinction, though. This announcement establishes Wave Go as a mobile recording system, not a complete IRL livestreaming solution. The release does not spell out streaming-app compatibility or exactly how its desktop integrations operate. Creators planning live broadcasts on the go will still need to verify support for their particular phone and streaming workflow.
Audio Controls That Keep the Focus on Creating

Wave Go includes automatic processing intended to reduce hands-on audio adjustments. Auto Gain responds to changes in voice volume, a limiter manages sudden peaks, and a low-cut filter reduces low-frequency rumble. A button on the receiver also lets users toggle noise cancellation.
The microphone connects to a phone through an included USB-C receiver, which supports pass-through charging to keep the phone powered while recording. Controls on the transmitter and Smart Handle handle power, mute, and recording on a connected phone, while LEDs display operating status and battery level.
Those features sound useful for creators working without a dedicated audio operator, but real-world performance remains the unanswered question. Automatic processing is a feature list, not a substitute for testing how the microphone handles voices and background noise in actual recording conditions.
Elgato Wave Go Price and Availability
Elgato rates the transmitter for up to eight hours per charge. The Smart Handle stores up to five additional full recharges, bringing the advertised combined runtime to as much as 48 hours. That figure includes recharging, rather than 48 hours from a single transmitter charge. Elgato also says a 10-minute charge provides approximately one hour of use.

The $99.99 package includes the transmitter, USB-C receiver, Smart Handle, carrying case, magnetic mounts, windscreens, and charging cable. An additional transmitter costs $29.99, or $14.99 when purchased alongside Wave Go through Elgato’s website. CORSAIR says direct availability covers more than 40 countries and regions, with authorized retailers to follow.
Creators who know Elgato primarily through their home setups, Wave Go represents an interesting change of scenery. Its appeal is not simply that Elgato now has a wireless microphone. It is that the brand is giving streamers a new way to take their voice, interviews, and storytelling beyond the desk, with a compact kit designed around mobile creation.
