Amandla Stenberg wows the internet with a Star Wars violin performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Our beloved Blerd Amandla Stenberg embraces nerd culture, starring in Disney’s The Acolyte. Amandla’s Star Wars fandom predates her role as Mae and Osha on the Acolyte. To expand, Stenberg’s journey with “The Acolyte” began three years ago when she signed up for the project.
“I haven’t been able to talk about it,” she confessed, “so to finally share it with people is awesome.”
One of the first places Stenberg promoted “The Acolyte” was at the Star Wars Celebration in London, dressed as Padme Amidala. “I love cons. I love cosplay,” she said, highlighting her passion for conventions and their community. She stood out by committing herself to her character, while others chose fashion.
To add, Stenberg’s experience at the celebration was nothing short of magical. She recalled being taken to a smoky stage with droids and light-saber-wielding fans. “It was awesome. I had so much fun,” she said.
But the fun didn’t stop there. At her hotel, Stenberg found a furry convention and danced all night after hearing EDM music and wearing a bunny hat. Stenberg initially felt like an outsider, but the furry community saw her as one of them due to her bunny hat. “It was honestly beautiful,” she reflected, appreciating the non-verbal connection and camaraderie.
Last but not least, the highlight of the interview came when Stenberg showcased her musical talent. The Roots, the award-winning house band, provided a beautiful violin for a Star Wars score performance.
Her performance of the Star Wars theme on violin was the perfect finale to an already captivating story, leaving fans eagerly waiting for more from this rising star.
New episodes of “Star Wars: The Acolyte” air on Tuesdays on Disney+. Don’t miss out on witnessing Stenberg’s exceptional performance in the Star Wars universe.
