This has been another amazing year for the sneaker community. We have seen countless exclusives, straight fire and unfortunately some trash. The good part is, we’ve had more good than bad and I’ve had a total of 35 pick-ups for the year. I’ve also done a lot of clothing shopping throughout the year as well and I came across some low-key gems. Below, you’ll be able to take a look at my top picks and some honorable mentions. Keep in mind, these are my personal picks, but I would love to know yours as well in the comments section.
Top 5 Sneakers:
1. Converse Bosey MC
This is the most comfortable shoe that I’ve put on all year! This is a sneaker boot of course, all-weather proof. Besides the comfortability, the colorway of this shoe is what stood out to me. That’s the reason why I made the decision to purchase the shoe in the first place. Converse definitely made this work because I’ve seen some sneakers with this colorway that looks horrible! These are still available on Converse.com.
2. Air Jordan 1 Hi OG ‘Blue Chill’
If you’ve been following me on social media or even my articles, then you already know how much I love the Air Jordan 1 Hi OG. This was a Women’s exclusive release back in February and I was on them! My favorite color is blue so these were a must cop. This sneaker was my original number one pick until I purchased those Converse.
3. Air Jordan 1 Hi OG ‘Turbo Green’ GS
For those of you that don’t know, this sneaker differed from the Men’s sizing. For GS(Grade School) sizing, the sneaker had a more washed/rugged look and it honestly made the sneaker look better. The colorway of the sneaker is unique and it captured my soul. I could not miss out on these as they did not release on Nike when they originally released and that upset me more than anything.
4. Nike Air Max 90 ‘Viotech’
As a sneakerhead, when you hear Viotech, you automatically think about the Nike Dunk Low. These made my list because of the colorway initially. Air Max 90 aren’t usually comfortable for me. This pair, in particular, are the most comfortable pair I’ve had to date. If you missed out on the Dunks, these are a perfect substitute. They look so good, I didn’t even go for the release of the Viotech Dunks.
5. Air Jordan 1 Hi OG ‘Fearless’
The first pair to drop within the Air Jordan Fearless collection. This pair is a women’s exclusive and a lot of people slept on these. Pictures of this sneaker, really do not do them any justice. In-person, these sneakers stand out in any room. They’re still widely available on multiple websites, including Nike.com.
Honorable Mention:
Top 5 Clothing:
1. Nike Sportswear ½-Zip Sherpa Hoodie
This. Listen. This was my last pick up for the year and by far the best. This hoodie can. Go under a lighter jacket and make you feel as though you have on a coat. It has a light feel, but the warmth is superior. I wish I could get every color, but now most of them are sold out in my size. This item is still available on Nike.com.
2. AE NE(X)T LEVEL JOGGER
These are my favorite joggers right now. They get me through the day whenever I wear them. Nice slim fit, but also loose. Joggers are great for many occasions, especially for a quick throw on if you don’t want to wear jeans. Various colors, but my favorite is camo. These are always available on ae.com. The AE NE(X)T Level Joggers are for Men, so make sure you take a look at the size chart to find your perfect fit.
3. Zara Men Waxed Finish Skinny Jean’s
If you want a skinny jean that has some stretch, you’re welcome. I’ve never been a fan of Waxed jeans until I found these. Perfect to dress up or down. They have a small opening at each knee to give a simple destructive look. I personally wear them when I’m going out and want to look “drippy.” They’re currently on sale at Zara.com.
4. Mitchell & Ness Allover Eastern and Western Long Sleeve Hockey Jersey
Here we have a Hockey Jersey with a twist. It comes in white or black with the NBA team logo. The black jersey has all of the eastern conference teams while the white has the western teams. Unfortunately, these are both sold out on Urban Outfitters website, which is where I got them from, but there are listings on eBay.
5. Urban Outfitters Lucien Stripe Volley Short
My favorite shorts for the summer! I copped two pairs of shorts in two different colors. Listen, long sleeve tee, these shorts and some Air Jordan 1 Hi OG’s. Equals a nice simple Fit!
Honorable Mention:
