Madden 20 Live First Impressions| NBA 2K Vibes Has me Hyped for Release

8

Post EA Play during E3 I have been eager to finally get my turn to experience Madden 20 and I must say I am highly impressed as a retired Madden Player.

I didn’t get a chance to play Madden 20 at EA Play but did hear some great points on how this year’s Madden has improved greatly. This highly persuaded me to take my jersey from the retired Madden rafters and get back on the sticks. So to feed that curiosity I subscribed to the newly introduced EA Access on PlayStation 4 for a month to play the 14-hour trial and test out as much as I can with Madden 20.

Presentation

Firing up the game I was highly impressed on the user interface. The art style, display of different players and their abilities and X factors is a great highlight to display. The way the interface is organized makes a player more interested in other modes which are a plus.

At the Start of Madden 20, you jump right into an NFL Bowl game between AFC and NFC, which is great so you can get a feel of the game and various players. I love when sports game auto put you into some type of gameplay before you drive into a specific mode so you at least warmed up to new mechanics and physics of the game. This also helps give you an idea on who will be your main team if not a favorable you’ve had for years, by playing different players and seeing their star and X factors.

Game Play Mechanics

The play alone has been an ongoing improvement since Madden 18. Madden 20 by far is A1 with the physics and motion. During my experience, it felt like a real football game, with the right tackle feel and movement from the players. You could feel how certain players were more efficient based off of their stats. The locomotion has some flaws but I need more hours of gameplay to make a fair assessment but so far it is good.

QB1 My Player Mode

You can definitely tell that Madden took a page out of 2K sport’s NBA 2K this year with its own My Player mode, QB1. This was one of the exciting modes I was able to play when testing out Madden 20. This year you get to create a college quarterback and dominate the College Football Playoff, then impress the scouts at the NFL Combine to reach the NFL. This mode gave me dreams of NCAA coming back as you are able to pick from a select amount of college teams to begin the QB1 journey with.

These were some of my highlights that really impressed me on my first play. For a more in-depth and Live Impression of my thought take a look at the video above. Stay tuned for my full review.

THE VERDICT SO FAR
From someone who has not played Madden a lot in 10 years, I am loving the improvements on the presentation as a whole which includes in-game and the UI of MAdden 20. The physics so far is very fluid. The star of attraction for me is X factors and Superstar abilities which reminds me of Takeover in NBA 2K. It will be a cop for me this August.
