Black Ops 6 Mutiplayer Beta – Classic CoD is BACK!

Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta

Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta is finally here and I can’t stop playing it – it’s the Call of Duty I’ve been waiting for! The classic Call of Duty days, stemming from CoD 4, Modern Warfare 2, World at War, and Black Ops, shaped the franchise’s multiplayer. Black Ops 6 embodies these greats, making it a multiplayer shooter I won’t put down.

My live thoughts and commentary on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 reveal.

At the Xbox Summer Showcase 2024, we saw a preview of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the first time I’ve been excited for a COD game since 2019. Why ruin newer Call of Duties if Modern Warfare improved things?

Why I am sold for the Black Ops 6 Experience?

A Black Man on the cover hyped me up, a historic moment for the franchise. Call of Duty: Vanguard introduced the first Black lead in a historically inspired World War I story. Black Ops 6 takes place in the 90s, specifically during Desert Storm. So my interest in the story is based on some real events. The president at the time, and the tying of Call of Duty Cold War, is leading to a better written Call of Duty single player hopefully. Call of Duty: Black Ops delivered the best story in the franchise with its twists and excellent pacing, setting a high bar for Black Ops 6 to match its greatness.

Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta Gameplay

The summer Xbox Showcase gave me insight into the franchise’s direction. Call of Duty MW3 reboot was a total letdown. I must say for me, the story was not as coherent with the unwanted fusion of Warzone. Futhermore, Zombies were boring and did not serve any purpose, again another Warzone fusion. The online gameplay had a high rate to kill, so the opposing team was a bullet sponge. The maps lacked planning, and the graphics were a downgrade from 2019. I mean, the list goes on. I checked for any issues in Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta.

The gameplay is smooth, like some fresh new buttah timbs. Now I will give testimony to my summer experience. While away with family this summer, I only had my gaming devices (Alienware laptop, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation Portal) to access my PS5 in NYC. My family had a month-long outage, so I used my phone’s hotspot and PlayStation Portal for the beta wave. Without a great Wi-Fi connection for the PS portal, your experience with any game will be compromised. I did not care, I needed to get my hands on the new Black Ops 6 to see if the Xbox showcase impressed me was real or just fluff again.

Even with a jacked up connection of blurriness, awkwardness on playing a multiplayer shooter on a PS portal, I still had so much damn fun playing the beta. Every game I had great kills and KD. When I was not as successful, I understood why and still enjoyed my time playing. The pace of the matches was perfect. The online gameplay embodies Black Ops, Modern Warfare reboot, and MW2 a bit.

Weapon Loadouts

Weapons wise, I used the default class that featured the Jackal PDW. The gun loadout and attachments were purely the meta loadout of the beta. Hopefully, it won’t be nerfed when the game is fully released.

Maps

The maps included close quarter combat (e.g. Derelict) and more spacious options (e.g. Scud) for various game modes. I liked the added detail of the map stats to help you actually do on certain maps.

Verdict

As an avid fan of the Black Ops franchise, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the newest installment. I hope the intricate and challenging riddles, a hallmark of the series, will integrate seamlessly into the storyline and the beloved zombies mode, giving players a thrilling chance to test their puzzle-solving skills and uncover hidden secrets.

Black Ops 6 will release on Oct. 25th on XBOX Gamepass, and at retail price on PS5 and Steam.
